Fiji Rotahomes Project, Lautoka, Fiji Islands
Model squatter resettlement town established to eliminate sub-human living conditions on western Viti Levu, by providing cyclone resistant shelters, clean water and living essentials for destitute families.
Value added to the project by Astutus:
- Preparation of project infrastructure budgets for 2010 – 2012
- Administration of construction contracts
- Preparation of a servicing strategy and overall development plan for the town which will comprise of 1100 residents and incorporate roads, drains, sewers, water mains and electrical services
- Facilitation of statutory approvals including native land leases
- Modelling and design of earthworks and services
- Design of low cost housing
Consultancy Practice Carpark, Ringwood, Vic
Carpark to accommodate 11 cars in a confined area with challenges including steep topography and drainage outfall.
Value added to the project by Astutus:
- 3D modelling of the carpark to minimise earthworks
- Design of a stormwater detention system which optimised the use of essential pipes for stormwater storage and minimised construction costs
- Rapid approval of plans
Urban Residential Redevelopment, Mornington Peninsula, Vic
78 lot residential redevelopment of an existing residential area.
